Don’t Belong Here
I walk the streets of my home town
and I didn’t see a loving face around……and the shadows carry me home,
and I go to bed so alone.
I guess I don’t belong here.
I guess I don’t belong here.
I guess I don’t belong here, anymore.
I wake up to my family,
and they look at me and then suddenly,
nobody seems the way they used to be.
I go out the door so lonely.
I guess I don’t belong here.
I guess I don’t belong here.
I guess I don’t belong here, anymore.
Time will turn your home into a battleground,
and the winds of change will knock you down.
I’ll hang onto these memories that I have found ’til I die.
I go up to the sacred door.
Lord knows that I’ve been there before.
There’s a song that we used to sing:
‘Amzing Grace’ will you sing with me?
They said I’m sorry but those days are gone.
Time is hard and we’ve moved on,
but you can go and walk the open road
and search for things that you’ll never hold.
I guess I don’t belong here.
I guess I don’t belong here.
I guess I don’t belong here, anymore.
